The annual Liver Life Walk 2025 in Houston was unfortunately canceled this year due to inclement weather. While the walk itself could not take place, the spirit of the event remained strong.
Participants—including Bernhard Arlt from Emerald Metals—gathered instead for a supportive breakfast organized by the American Liver Foundation. The alternative gathering provided an opportunity for supporters, patients, families, and advocates to connect, share stories, and reaffirm their commitment to the fight against liver disease.
At Emerald Metals, organ donation and liver health are causes we care deeply about. Supporting initiatives that advance research, patient care, and public awareness reflects our broader commitment to community responsibility and long-term impact. Although the walk could not proceed as planned, we were proud to stand alongside others in demonstrating meaningful support for those affected by liver disease.
The American Liver Foundation continues to play a vital role in funding research, providing patient education, and advocating for improved liver health nationwide. For those who would like to contribute to this important mission, donations can be made directly through their website:

Emerald Metals remains committed to supporting the Foundation and its mission to improve liver health and patient care. We are already looking forward to participating in this year’s Liver Life Walk and continuing to make a difference—together.
